96 Khz CD | Added By Request ((TOP))
on the topic of trolling though, what on earth are you doing commenting in a thread about something you have no interest in, requested by people who obviously have different needs and interests than you? What we're after is to have 88/96 enabled as an OPTION that anyone can use or not use according to their needs.

Aidan, In my last response, yes, I did state the case for the document as it is and so will not belabor that in this response. It appears we have a disagreement as to whether reducing channel count is a workable solution for economizing buffer. I appreciate that reducing channel count places limitations on an implementation but the task group did not see it as unworkable. Your request to add a 0.5 ms packet time for 96 kHz streams cannot simply be added to the draft at this stage. The request could only be immediately considered by sending the draft back to the task group for revision the restarting the standards approval process. This step would be taken if a change was required to address a serious oversight or deficiency. As outlined in my previous response, I find that the issue you raise is neither an oversight nor a serious deficiency. Please reply by the end of the comment period if this reply is not acceptable to you. You may also ask us to consider your comments again for the next revision of the document. You may also appeal our decision to the Standards Secretariat. Kevin Gross

Version 2.3 (FUT 203): Settings dialog: new tab 'DDS' added. The current sample rate can now be controlled in real-time, and also pre-set. DDS includes presets of common video sample rates. TotalMix: Completely re-written software. TotalMix now includes numerous new functions, see the file new_totalmix.txt. New TotalMix Systray icon with new min/max functionality. General: New firmware supports varispeed in 56 channel mode. GSIF 2 MIDI ports added. 8-Channel interleaved mode MME 24/32 bits 4 byte/s added. (02/2005)
Version 2.2 (FUT 202): Settings dialog: The option SyncAlign wasn't stored correctly. TotalMix: New function 'Link Faders' added. Floating point calculations could cause a crash of TotalMix. Scroll-wheel support for faders and pans added. Not initialised variable in the ASIO driver could cause ASIO to stop in multi-client operation. In seldom cases the MIDI driver could cause a freeze of the computer. 'Always on Top' deactivated in TotalMix caused delayed playback/recording up to freezes of the audio software when ADM was active. Flash Update Revision 202: Now compatible to Sony DASH machines. No noise anymore at power off and warm boot of the computer. (06/2004)
Version 2.1: News: Improved compatibility when the second/third card uses a shared PCI slot. Support for power management (standby / resume). Deactivating the driver caused a crash (BSOD). Full GSIF 2.0 audio support (record and playback). MME: In AutoSync mode, a request for a different sample rate than the input one (caused a change to Master mode) is no longer supported. TotalMix: in scrolled mode, faders and pans did not work as expected. Clock control and Check Input logic in AutoSync mode improved and fixed. ASIO: Using more than 2 MADI cards caused the ASIO channel list to become corrupted. (03/2004)
Version 2.0: News: Added 96 kHz 'Double Wire' and 96 kHz Frame modes. Settings dialog modified, 192 kHz option removed, 48 kHz Frame and 96 kHz Frame added. Small bug in PCI core fixed, caused clicks on some systems when having TotalMix open. Added instant boot functionality, the card now saves all hardware states found in the Settings dialog. MADI output signal fixed, a missing Channel Status block start on all even channels caused Neve Capricorn to distort audio. Unused but selected optical input caused single sample clicks in input channels. MIDI over MADI added.
Version 2.5 (FUT 203): Driver number changed to 2.5 because of identical functionality to the Windows driver. Added complete support for the HDSP AES-32. Settings dialog: new tab 'DDS' added. The current sample rate can now be controlled in real-time, and also pre-set. TotalMix: Completely re-written software. TotalMix now includes numerous new functions, see updated manual.
